The wider the track shoe is not the better, why?
The track shoe is one of the chassis parts of construction machinery, and is a wearing part of the construction machinery used. At present, it is commonly used on construction machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, crawler cranes, and pavers.

The track is a flexible chain ring driven by the driving wheel and surrounding the driving wheel, road wheel, idler wheel and idler wheel. The track consists of track shoes and track pins. The track pins connect the track shoes together to form the track links.
There are holes on both sides of the track shoe, which mesh with the driving wheel, and there are guiding teeth in the middle, which are used to straighten the track and prevent the track from falling off when the tank turns or rolls. In order to improve the firmness of the track shoes and the adhesion between the track and the road. The track shoes on construction machinery come from materials, which can be divided into: steel and rubber. Steel track shoes are mostly used on equipment with relatively large tonnage, and rubber track shoes are mostly used on equipment with small tonnage. The overall track shoe of the paver is made of imported rubber, and strict production technology ensures the quality of the product.

Should the track shoes be wide or narrow? Some people say that the wide one doesn't trap the car, and some people say that the narrow one saves fuel and runs faster. So how exactly do you need to choose a track shoe?
Different track shoes have a great impact on the production efficiency ofcrawler crane and the service life of the chassis system. The selection of track shoes requires comprehensive consideration of road conditions, application conditions and the wear life of chassis parts.
When the width of the track shoe increases, the buoyancy of the track shoe increases, which can adapt to more working conditions; but the maneuverability of bulldozing decreases, and the structural life of the track shoe and other parts of the bottom plate also decreases. Moreover, the wider the track shoe, the greater the friction with the road surface, the greater the loss of power consumption during driving, and the higher the fuel consumption of the crawler crane.

Therefore, the wider the track shoe is not the better, a basic principle when selecting the track shoe is: the narrower the track shoe is, the better when the equipment is not trapped during operation.
