The track shoe is one of the chassis parts of construction machinery, and is a wearing part of the construction machinery used. At present, it is commonly used on construction machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, crawler cranes, and pavers.

When the width of the track shoe increases, the buoyancy of the track shoe increases, which can adapt to more working conditions; but the maneuverability of bulldozing decreases, and the structural life of the track shoe and other parts of the bottom plate also decreases. Moreover, the wider the track shoe, the greater the friction with the road surface, the greater the loss of power consumption during driving, and the higher the fuel consumption of the crawler crane.
Therefore, the wider the track shoe is not the better, a basic principle when selecting the track shoe is: the narrower the track shoe is, the better when the equipment is not trapped during operation.
