What should be done to the crawler crane in thunderstorm weather？
"It was fine just now, but after a thunderstorm, the crane was out of order." Such feedback is often received in thunderstorm season. Usually, the crane is hit by lightning. So what should be done to the crawler crane in thunderstorm weather？
1. Lower the overall height
The crane boom is like the Earth's discharge needle, very easy to attract lightning, so the crane boom should be lying on the ground or at the lowest state.
2.Shut down the engine and turn off the main power switch
Cut off all power supplies of the whole vehicle to avoid forming a circuit.
3.Unplug the Controller
The controller and other important electrical parts can be physically isolated from the electrical system of the whole machine to prevent the passage of large current and protect the controller.
4. Install a lightning protection grounding device
When the high voltage formed by lightning is superimposed on the crawler crane body, the grounding system can quickly release the voltage higher than the safe operation of the control system to protect the crane.
