Hardening of Crawler Crane Undercarriage Parts Track Shoe.
Crawler Crane Track Shoe is an important part of crawler crane undercarriage parts, its quality and performance directly affect the service life and working efficiency of the whole crawler crane. Quenching is a common heat treatment method, through the process of heating and rapid cooling, the surface and internal organisation of the crawler crane track shoe is changed to achieve the effect of improving hardness and wear resistance.
Why do we need quenching?
1. Improvement of hardness: quenching can make the hardness of the track plate increase greatly, so that it can better resist the external impact and abrasion, and prolong the service life.
2. Increase wear resistance: after quenching, a layer of martensite with high hardness and wear resistance is formed on the surface of the track plate, which can effectively resist abrasion and spalling, and improve working efficiency.
3. Improvement of toughness: the rapid cooling during the quenching process causes the formation of fine tissue inside the track plate, which improves the toughness and tensile strength of the material, and enhances the overall load-bearing capacity.

Precautions for quenching:
1. control the quenching temperature: too high or too low quenching temperature will negatively affect the hardness and wear resistance of the track plate, so the quenching temperature should be strictly controlled to ensure that the quenching effect meets the expectation.
2. Reasonable selection of quenching medium: different materials need to choose different quenching medium, generally commonly used media are water, oil and salt, etc., according to the characteristics of the material to choose the appropriate quenching medium.
3. Control the cooling speed: the cooling speed in the quenching process will also affect the performance of the track plate, according to the requirements of the track plate and the material properties to control the cooling speed, to avoid cracks and other problems.
4. Reasonable tempering treatment: the tracked plate after quenching may produce internal stress, need to carry out tempering treatment to eliminate stress, avoid material deformation and cracks.
