Hitachi Sumitomo SCX900-2 Bottom Roller
The bottom roller is used to support weight of the crawler crane, and transfer the weight to the ground, at the same time, rolling on the surface of the track shoe, to limit and prevent lateral slip of track shoe. When the crawler crane turns, the support wheel forces the crawler track assy to slip on the ground.
The supporting wheel is often in the dust of mud and water and bears a strong impact. Therefore, it is required to reliable sealing and good wear resistance.

Several Problems Easy To Occur
1. Wear of Roller body. The reason for this situation is that the steel is not qualified or the hardness of the material is low and the wear resistance is insufficient.
2 .Oil leaking Bottom Roller shaft through the shaft sleeve has been rotating, round the body to refuel lubrication, but if seal is bad, it is easy to produce the phenomenon of oil spills, such shaft and shaft sleeve in the case of no lubrication, easy to wear and tear, caused the product could not be used. There are several reasons for the oil leakage:
- The floating oil seal is not qualified;
- Insufficient round degree of product axle housing;
- Insufficient axial gloss;
- The gear oil is not up to standard;
- Machining dimension tolerance and so on.
All of these problems can lead to a heavy oil spill.

Daily Maintenance Points of Bottom Roller:
After the bottom roller is worn to its limit size, it can be repaired by welding and manual trimming, or replaced by new parts.
The daily maintenance points of the bottom roller are as follows:
- One is two maintain good lubrication sate, because the lower roller supports the weight of the whole machine and load hoisting load, it must maintain good lubrication state, in event of oil leakage, the oil should be removed and replaced, and the lubricating oil should be replaced.
- Second , when the lower roller is worn to its limit size, it should be repaired by welding or replaced new parts.
